In order to allocate places fairly, Hurley Pre-school follows the following guidelines:-
Children in immediate need.
Children living on the Cotton Gardens Estate.
Homeless Families.
Social Service referrals.
Carer Crisis.
Child one of multiple birth.
Children with special additional needs (issues for consideration would be severity, resources i.e. space and staff ratio’s)
Cultural diversity of the group. This aims to reflect the diversity in the local community. We try to match children from the same culture so to support their parents and extend friendships.
Gender balance.
Siblings are given priority, the older child is given preference. Priority is given to children not already attending another under 5’s provision.
TheManagement Committeewill allocate places using this criteria. We have good links with the local community. We work with the Ethelred Children’s Centre and help them meet their objectives. We work with the local Health Centres and Clinics. We have various students working with us as part of their training, from Schools and Colleges. We have links with local schools and help parents/carers with transition.
